6 large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup bourbon (optional)
1/4 cup dark rum (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Whipped cream and additional nutmeg for garnish
Directions

In a large bowl, beat eggs until smooth. Gradually add sugar, beating until the mixture is thick and pale.
Slowly stir in milk, cream, bourbon (if using), rum (if using), vanilla extract, and nutmeg.
